One ridge. Three lots. Nothing added.
The Baba Budan range holds the oldest coffee in India — seven seeds carried from Mocha in the seventeenth century, planted on a ridge in Chikkamagaluru that has never once stopped giving. SPILLGLASS comes from one estate on that ridge, shade-grown at 1400 metres under a two-tier canopy of silver oak and native rosewood.
Budan, Aranya and Giri are not three separate farms or three separate roasters' ideas of variety — they are three lots off the same ridge, named for the parts of the landscape they come from: the hills that carried the first seed, the forest canopy the cherry ripens under, the peak above the estate where the nights run coldest. The differences between them are real and come from the ridge itself, not from a marketing brief.
Nothing here is hurried. Cherry sugars accumulate slowly at this elevation, and the roast stops where the origin is still audible — pulled seconds past first crack, before char can start speaking over terroir. What we won't do is invent what we haven't tasted: tasting notes only appear on this site once we have them from the people who've actually cupped the lot. Until then, the figures below are what we can stand behind.
